My name is Mike Bollinger. I'm an 8th Grade Social Studies teacher at Lewiston-Porter Middle School. I've been in education for 25 years, and this is my 23rd year at Lew-Port. I'm looking to get ideas on how to motivate students, but also ideas that I can use with my own children as a parent. My copy of the book just arrived in the mail today, and I'm looking forward to starting it.

I have always been interested in mindsets of my students and I am looking forward to learning new ways to think outside the box to improve how my students look at themselves. I have been in the education field for 15 years
ReplyDeleteMy name is Maureen Basta. I am a 12th grade English Teacher at Lewiston-Porter High School. I also teach a college level Public Speaking course. I have been teaching for 16 years. I'm taking this course because I like how the book states you can use the information in all aspects of your life. I also want to be able to use the growth mindset to get my students to become more motivated, which can be difficult for seniors.

When I read the description of this book I thought to my self that I could not only learn something that can benefit my students, but also myself. If I don't take care of who I am then I can't add the value I want to others lives. I look forward to reading Mindset.

ReplyDeleteI truly enjoyed reading this book (this is my second time around) and find it to be very motivating and a great way to start the school year! If you have anything to add that i dont bring up please dont hesitate to share or change the conversation related to that chapter!
Hi my name is Sandy Rauber. I am a speech language pathologist at the Lewiston-Porter Primary Education Center. This is my 7th year at Lew-Port and my 14th year working as an SLP. I truly love working in this field and I am always looking for new ways to motivate my student- for whom learning does not always come easily. I hope to gain inspiration for students as well as myself through this book study.
